The University of Castilla-La Mancha (UCLM) has collaborated in the preliminary design of the plant by several research groups (research groups in the areas of Chemical Engineering, Chemistry, Physics, and Heat Engines. ) According to the university this plant will reduce CO2 emissions to the atmosphere in the process of producing electricity from coal by separating carbon dioxide and hydrogen at low cost, and will be the largest in the world for an Integrated Gasification process Combined Cycle.
